Sweet Revenge for Mixed 2

The Mixed 2 team gained swift and sweet revenge for their recent defeat away to Open Door by winning the return match by 4 1/2 rubbers to 1 1/2. The first round saw Diana Guthrie and Ales Vochyan end all-square with the opponents’ first pair, winning the first set but being edged-out in a close tie-break in the second, while wife/husband pairing Chikako and Bryan Forbes scored a straight sets win over the second pair, and sister/brother combo Holly and Ben Cunliffe beat the third pair 6-3, 6-3. In the second round, while Chikako and Bryan lost to the first pair, Holly and Ben won 6-2, 6-2, and Diana and Ales triumphed by 6-1, 6-4 against the visitors’ third pair. So a pleasing Sunday afternoon for CLTC!
