Winning Ways for Midweek Mixed

Chislehurst were hosts to near-neighbours from Sundridge Park in the latest Midweek Mixed match last Tuesday (May 17), and finished up victorious. First pair Diane Day and Marc Belben enjoyed a fairly comfortable 6-3, 6-2 win in their first rubber, though things were a little closer on the adjacent court! Diana Guthrie and Clive Richardson battled hard in losing the first set on a tie-break, then went behind 1 – 4 and 2 -5 before clawing their way back into the match and forcing another tie-break, this time successful in halving a match lasting five minutes under two hours!  The second round proved less challenging, Diane and Diana not losing a game in their straight sets win, while Marc and Clive also cruised to victory by 6 -1, 6 – 2.
